Passionate about the hotel industry


When the hotel in which the Dobitsch family itself had spent holidays regularly for many years was up for sale in 2001, Evelyn Dobitsch did not need long to make up her mind. Running her own hotel had always been her dream.

Hotel Castel has since become a genuine family business. Today, two generations work day-by-day with a great deal of passion and heart on very special moments of relaxation for their guests – for you.

Individuality is emphasised


A well-rehearsed team of 45 employees that has been together for years ensures unique experiences and particularly individual service. Each individual team member loves the hotel’s idea – and continuously develops it into something even better.

The honest passion with which the people here go about their work begins with the hosts. They manage the Castel as career changers and with their own aspirations of a 5-star hotel as the standard.

Located on the south slope of a vineyard, Hotel Castel rises above Merano like a natural balcony. A wonderful view of the Merano region in the lush valley basin and the high alpine nature protection area of the Texel mountains opens up.

Enjoy the unique view at any time of day or night, whether in the morning on your personal south-facing balcony, while having breakfast, coffee or a cocktail on one of our terraces or while sunbathing in the garden or by the pool.

Thanks to the special climate in the Merano region, here you can already enjoy the sun while elsewhere there are still grey clouds and cold temperatures.
